Self-extracting executable file to install Windows Mobile 2003 OS onto your existing StrongARM-based PDT 8100 presently running on Pocket PC 2002 OS. The upgrade process will take approximately 10 minutes to complete using the required Compact Flash card. See ReadMe File for further details.

The upgrade package contains all the necessary Binary files required to upgrade a terminal.

  1. All files contained in the .zip file need to be copied to the root directory of a Compact Flash card.
  2. Then place the CF card into the user-accessible CF card slot. Please refer to the terminal QRG for further details.
  3. Connect the terminal to an external power source.
  4. Follow the instructions in the ReadMe to flash the OS component, Platform and Application component and the MICRO-P component.

WARNING: While performing Step (4), the MICRO-P file will download to the terminal within seconds, but it takes approximately 2 minutes to write the data to the terminal. During this time, the green LED flashes and it's important to follow the instructions on the terminal display. DO NOT REMOVE THE POWER OR REBOOT THE TERMINAL during this time. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS WILL RESULT IN SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE TERMINAL. Wait until the Download Complete message is displayed on the terminal screen and the terminal resets before continuing.
